Fire & Rescue
Provide fire and rescue services to the citizens of Hanover Borough and Penn Township Assist surrounding communities with mutual aid when requested. See the position information sheet here.
Fire Polic
e
The fire police are responsible for the protection of firefighters and the public at the scene of an emergency. They assist the police and fire service at an emergency by directing away from their location, and assist local organizations with traffic control at their activities and events. Dive Team
The Dive Team provides tethered, in-water service at the locations of emergency incidents such as search and recovery; retrieval of victims, vehicles, stolen or lost property; and Law Enforcement Requests. See the position information here.
Air & Lighting
The Air & Lighting team provides air cascade and scene lighting at the location of emergency situations. “Air cascade” is the refilling of the breathing air of the SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus). See the position sheet here.
Administrative & Leadership
All administrative and leadership positions foster a positive Company image by supporting the Volunteer organization in accomplishing its goals and ensuring team accountability to its membership and the Hanover Area communities. Fire Museum
The Greater Hanover Area Fire Museum has positions available for everyone's special talents, including tour guides, event helpers, maintenance and cleaning crew, historian, curator, and archivists. The museum will find or create a position for any individual with a desire to volunteer. See the position sheet here.
Positions for Teens
HAVFR offers Cadet (ages 14-15) and Junior (ages 16-17) Fire Fighter positions for teens under 18 years of age who have not yet graduated high school. Junior fire fighter applicants must have a guardian sign their application, and must show working papers.
